NADB currently funds and operates two technical assistance programs designed to strengthen the overall financial and managerial capacity of border utilities, as well as to assist project sponsors in the development of their environmental infrastructure projects.
Project Status
Institutional Development Cooperation Program (IDP)
This grant program is designed to help local utilities perform studies and implement capacity-building measures necessary for the proper management and development of their systems. To date, a total of US$16.54
million in grant funding has been committed through this program to support 182 studies benefiting 80 border communities.
Project Development Program (PDP)
This grant program is designed to help project sponsors in the planning and design of infrastructure projects that will be submitted to the BECC for certification and to the NADB
for financing. To date, a total of US$6 million in grant funding has been
committed to support 43
studies benefiting 49 border communities.
For the status of all the studies and other activities funded under these programs, see
Technical Assistance Report
(pdf).
For a summary of the number of studies and amount of funds committed by state, see
Technical Assistance Summary by State (pdf).
Applying for Technical Assistance
Technical assistance is available to support utilities, state and local government agencies, and other sponsors of projects that have been certified by the BECC, or sponsors who are actively developing specific projects for certification by BECC and financing by NADB. For additional program-specific requirements, go to Institutional Development Cooperation Program (IDP) and/or Project Development Program (PDP).
